The Online Consumer Order Package
All Customers have access to a Database driven order entry package. A consumer can quickly select a location and gain access to this powerful database driven package.

The consumer can select any location in the network OR can select general pricing. The General Pricing will list ALL available products. The Individual locations will only list the products they are authorized to sell in their area or market segment.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, then check the General Pricing OR contact your local location.

NOTE: Only selected products are available to order on-line. Customized products, flyers, letterhead, brochures etc that are not created using the on-line templates, are also available at your local printer.ca. The quotation package will give you a price for any product in the system and will be honored at the local franchise when you bring them your artwork. If you require the artwork to be done, then contact them directly for a seperate quotation for Desktop Services. They will be happy to help you.

After selecting your local printer.ca location, select a product classification and ink combination. (After you placed an order in the system you can trace it at any time. See Tracing an order).

Selection of Product
Depending on the products the location is authorized to promote and sell, the sytem will return with a list of products. A sample picture is available of the product as well as some detailed information. Select Order Item to choose an item.

Start the Order
We will assume that you have already decided to purchase an item and have checked out the prices in the quotation portion of the website. On many of the items, in the Detail section you can download an easy to use order form so as to collect your thoughts. You will be given one (1) or more layout templates for the selected item. Click the applicable template and then proceed to fill in ALL of the information shown. Click on the Update Information button and if all information passes a number of checks, the Continue with Order button will be available. Click on Continue with Order.

The Main Order Page
This Order page will adapt the options available depending on the status of the order. Fewer or More menu options (as well as a proof) will be displayed accordingly. Options are as follows:

Edit Billing Information
Will allow you to edit the information already entered. This is used for billing and invoicing as well as any future search criteria by your printer.ca location.

Edit Paper/Ink/Colours
Will allow you to edit the Quantity Ordered, Fonts used, Ink Combination, Paper options and add comments to the particular order.

Edit Content
Will allow you to edit the actual copy to be placed on the ordered product as well as a logo or background image if required.

View Proof
Will allow you to view an larger proof of the actual product.

Order Printout
Will display a form with ALL of the information and options of the order.

Checkout (Transfer)
Will allow you to process the order and forward it to the local printer.ca location.

An up-to-date pricing chart is also displayed if you make any changes in the format or options along the way.

Edit Paper/Ink/Colours
All options may differ slightly depending on the product being ordered. If different papers are available for this product a drop down menu will be displayed showing the options. Note that higher priced papers will change the pricing and will be reflected in the chart on the Order screen.

Depending on the product, a maximum of 4 font styles are available. Select as required. If you are unsure what they look like then click on View Font Styles.

A maximum of 2 colours are available on a product. If a 2 colour job then that will be all that is available. In the sample on the left we have a full colour business card and the colours reflect the copy colour and the background colour. This will be different depending on the product. If you are unsure what the colours look like then click on View Colours. Please note that the colours displayed in a web browser may not be exactly as intended. Your monitor should have "millions of colours" selected to represent even closely what is available. If you want a particular colour then contact your local printer.ca location and ask to see a PANTONE colour matching book.

Comments - Enter any comments you think you need to make and they will be forwarded with the order. They will also be editable at the time of checkout (transfer).

Edit Content
The number of lines will change depending on the product. In the sample shown there are 10 lines that are available. You can choose to leave some blank if you desire. The fonts selected (in the Edit Paper/inkcolours) are now available in the rollups. If this was a two colour card then a rollup will also be available for the colour options. You can also select the point size of the font in each line of text.

If the product requires (and/or allows for) an image or logo then you can enter the image number. To view images click on the View Backgrounds link. Look what is available and if you find something copy the number into the box provided. (if a logo is required then View Icons).

Please note that any/all images and/or logos are the copyright of their perspective owners. A Wrong name or number here will create an error and the proof WILL NOT be available.

NOTE: In most cases if you have a photograph (in case of 4 colour) or logo that you would like to use instead of the ones available, contact your local printer.ca location and ask them about this service. For a small fee, we will take your photograph, scan it into the system and assign it a part number that will be given to you. This way you can customize a Business Card, Christmas Card or what have you, with your personal touch. Imagine the possibilities that this will open up for you. Note that any custom images or logos are NOT available in the search routines, you MUST retain the number to be able to use it.

View Proof
The system will display an image that is 800 pixels wide. (Should have a monitor set at a minimum of 800 but ideally larger than 1000 px.) You can print to your printer and it should display like it will print.

Please note that any/all images and/or logos are the copyright of their perspective owners. The Copyright symbol will be displayed on all photographs including the customers' images. This will NOT print in the final copy. NOTE: The cropping of images may differ slightly on the final product.

The Printout and Authorization Form
Once all of the information has been entered and you feel that the product is the way you want it to look, you can request a printout of the order. It will outline all of the information entered, show a proof, confirm the quantity and price, list any colour cominations, and list the item copy in a readable format.

If you wish to forward the order to your local printer.ca location, the bottom half of the form will need to be completed. All of the questions need to be answered with 'YES' and the form needs to be signed and Authorized (Click the button).

When the form has been completed the Order Screen will show a Check-out button and allow you to send the order to your local printer.ca store. Once an order has been sent it is NO LONGER editable. Any changes to the product will incur extra charges. Please note that the order is immediatly forwarded to the Central Manufacturing Facility pending the release by your local printer.ca.

Check Out - Transfer to the local printer.ca
Checking out the order item will place the order into a queue at the Central Manufacturing Facility. The order then requires the release from your local printer.ca location. If you are a regular customer then it will be processed as quickly as possible. New customers will be contacted in regard to any questions then may have as they look over the on-lline proofs, as well as the payment options.

A roll up is displayed of the employees at the local printer.ca location. Select your contact, edit the comments if necessary and forward the order.

Tracking Number
Upon submitting an order to your local printer.ca location, the system will issue you a tracking number. It will also be forwarded to you in an email. Write it down and you can then track your order whenever you want from the Main Quote Screen.
